Korimako Road

This house started as a bach up in the bush and grew with additions by architect Burwell Hunt in the 1980s. A large deck was collapsing into the bush and the house needed to be opened up to the sun and the views. Walls were taken out, dark beams lightened and skylights added to let in the sun and the views of the hill and bush behind. Worked closely with my lovely client, both agreeing on many things including a stone top for her island unit that reminded her of the Gertrude Saddle. The whole house was freshened up and the deck and entry steps re-built. It‘s a little bit of paradise.
